Mac Sin Lipstick
This lipstick right now is my absolute favorite! For me it matches my skin-tone perfectly, it's beautiful and it lasts for hours! It's a beautiful red/brown with just a tiny hint of a deep purple to it, with a nice matte finish. My only disappointment with this lipstick is that it is a bit hard to apply due to it's matte finish. I recommend putting on a good lip moisturizer before applying this lipstick, and absolutely make sure you exfoliate your lips before wearing this color as it does seem to stick to dry/chapped areas. But as long as your lips are in a healthy condition, this will apply nicely and look beautiful. This color is also very buildable, so if you aren't ready for such a dark bold color, you can apply this lightly as a sheer and slowly build it up to a color you feel good about. This is the perfect lipstick for this seasons hot vampy lip trend.
Not ready to splurge $17 on a lipstick just yet? No problem! Wet N Wild makes a nice dupe to this color. Called Cherry Bomb.
Wet N' Wild Cherry Bomb retails for around $2 at local drugstores. While it doesn't have the Mac quality or stay power, it is a nice option to try out to see if you are ready to commit to a dark color. My issue when trying this color is that it was very drying. As soon as I put it on my lips, they were just begging for moisture, I also had a lot of issues with getting this color to last longer than one hour, whereas I was able to keep Mac Sin on for over 4 hours while eating and drinking. But hey, you get what you pay for!
At the end of the day, I am going to continue to splurge for Mac in this case. The quality, the feel of the product on my lips, and staying power is the deal maker for me in this case. But for those of you who are wanting to try out the new vampy trend, but not ready to commit to the price of a higher end product then Wet N Wild is the perfect product. Let me know your favorite between the two!!
Me rocking Sin!
